Johanna V. Gregory Obituary, JEROMESVILLE, OH — Johanna V. Gregory, age 72, of Jeromesville, Ohio, passed away on May 30, 2026, at Life Care Hospice in Wooster, Ohio. She was remembered by family and friends for her long-standing dedication to her family, her work, and her community.

Born on July 30, 1953, in Madison, Ohio, Johanna was the daughter of Donald and Genevieve (Hagerdon) Gregory. She spent her life deeply connected to rural living, embracing both farming and the values of hard work and perseverance that shaped her upbringing.

Johanna built a respected career as a school bus driver, serving school systems across Ashland and Wayne County for more than 20 years. She was known for her commitment to safely transporting children and her friendly presence within the communities she served.

Beyond her work, Johanna enjoyed a simple and fulfilling life centered around gardening, mowing her lawn, sewing, and crafting. She frequently attended craft fairs and was known as a devoted dog lover, especially to her Labradors Maggie, Ozzyie, and Laccie. In her younger years, she also cherished riding her horse, Jupiter, nearly every day.

She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Marhefka of Geneva, Ohio; her sister, Kathy Kennedy of Upper St. Clair, Pennsylvania; and her brother, Harry Gregory of Streetsboro, Ohio. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Gale Gregory of Simpsonville, South Carolina; nephews Nathaniel (Jennifer) Kennedy and Kylee (Tara) Kennedy; niece Kelly (David) Patch; and several great-nephews and a great-niece.

Johanna was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, James Gregory; her brother-in-law, Skip Kennedy; and her niece, Sarah Gregory-Evans. Funeral arrangements were handled by Behm Family Funeral Home in Madison, Ohio, with private family services observed.

Johanna V. Gregory will be remembered as a hardworking, compassionate woman whose life was defined by dedication to her family, her work, and her community. May she rest in peace.
