Tracy Dale Mosteller Obituary, IRON STATION, NORTH CAROLINA — Tracy Dale Mosteller, 59, of Vale, North Carolina, died following a fiery head-on collision on NC 27 in Lincoln County on Wednesday morning, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. The crash also left Kevin Lee Long, 52, of Iron Station, with serious injuries as authorities continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Troopers said the collision occurred at approximately 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, near Long Circle in Iron Station. Preliminary findings indicate that a 2001 Ford Expedition driven by Kevin Lee Long was traveling westbound on NC 27 when it crossed the center line into the eastbound lane, where it collided head-on with a 2016 Volvo driven by Tracy Dale Mosteller.

The impact caused catastrophic damage to both vehicles. Following the crash, the Ford Expedition caught fire, creating a dangerous scene for emergency responders who arrived to assist the victims. Firefighters and rescue crews worked to secure the area while providing emergency medical care.

Kevin Lee Long sustained serious injuries in the collision and was airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center Main in Charlotte for treatment. Officials have not released an update regarding his current medical condition.
