Dominque, Dquarious, and Nailani Butler Obituary, TRUSSVILLE, ALABAMA — A tragic crash involving two tractor-trailers on Interstate 59 has claimed the lives of three members of a Mississippi family, leaving loved ones and their community mourning an unimaginable loss.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, the victims have been identified as 32-year-old Dominque Mariona Butler, her husband, 29-year-old Dquarious Marqua Butler, and their 5-year-old daughter, Nailani Butler. The family, who were residents of Liberty, Mississippi, were traveling together Tuesday morning when the fatal collision occurred near Trussville.
Authorities reported that the crash happened at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday when one tractor-trailer struck another from behind on Interstate 59. Dominque Butler and young Nailani Butler were pronounced dead at the scene. Dquarious Butler was transported to UAB Hospital with critical injuries but later succumbed to those injuries shortly after his arrival, officials confirmed.
Three other children from the Butler family were also involved in the collision and were taken to Children’s of Alabama for medical treatment. Officials have not released information regarding their conditions. Emergency responders, including firefighters, law enforcement officers, and medical personnel, worked tirelessly at the crash scene while investigators began documenting evidence and clearing the roadway.
