Turray Simms Obituary, WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Washington, D.C., community is mourning the tragic loss of Turray Simms, a 19-year-old man who was fatally shot early July 6 in Southeast Washington. According to the Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded around 4:30 a.m. to the 2500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue SE after receiving reports of a person down. Upon arrival, officers found Simms suffering from gunshot wounds.
D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services transported Simms to a nearby hospital, where medical personnel attempted lifesaving measures. Despite those efforts, he was later pronounced dead.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting as they work to identify those responsible. Police have announced that a reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case.
